Maesyn’s Fireweed Consulting is on hold as a project I may revisit or not. This is largely due to the inability to speak to my own wildland firefighting experience or utilize media that I created from it without scrutiny from USFS policy threatening a lawsuit. Currently, I am grappling with seeing someone of “higher status” be able to run a Congressional campaign while the institutions he touts are the same things that prevented me from helping fill in the wildfire preparedness gaps. As a late diagnosis AuDHD woman, I don’t understand why rules apply to some and not others, and I refuse to believe that is just “the way the world works.” My daughter’s legacy combined with the grief of my perfect fit of a career will find other ways to bloom.
